Partner Profiles

Charles L. Kiu, C.P.A. - Charles earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy from California State University - Northridge. Charles began his professional career with Jenkins Bowler LLP in 2000 and became a partner in 2008 and the managing partner in 2015. He specializes in income tax planning and compliance for individuals, fiduciaries, closely-held businesses and non-profit organizations, with additional emphases in management consulting, accounting system setup, internal control system review, trustee service and California probate accounting and reporting. He is also very experienced with estate tax compliance and planning and stays on top of the current developments of estate tax laws. He served as President of the Chinese-American CPAs Society of Southern California (CACPA) for many years prior to 2015 when the CACPA joined forces with the Chinese-American CPA Association (CACPAA). He is currently a board member of the CACPAA and an active member of the Rotary Club of Pasadena.

Patrick J. Bowler, Jr., C.P.A.- Patrick earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Santa Clara  University. Patrick has been with the firm since 2008, becoming a partner January 1, 2015. Patrick brings practical experience in the tax and accounting/auditing arenas. Patrick specializes in providing tax advice to individuals, partnerships, corporations, fiduciaries; and he emphasizes planning in advance of the transaction in order to avoid unintended consequences.

Patrick J. Bowler, C.P.A. (Partner Emeritus) - Pat earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business from California State University - San Francisco. Pat's experience includes over 36 years in the accounting profession, including 26 years as a partner in the firm. As audit partner for Jenkins Bowler LLP's nonprofit organizations, Pat puts special emphasis on the internal control systems during certified audits. Pat is very well versed in tax compliance for nonprofits, including preparation of annual returns and calculating quarterly excise taxes
